Gap Analysis

Gap Analysis

We conduct a gap analysis based upon the findings identified in the RIM Assessment. The analysis is accomplished by benchmarking the Assessment findings against RIM best practices within the industry and environment in which the client operates. The analysis should address the following:

  • Governance and Program Infrastructure: who, what and how an organization exercises authority, control and management over information management practices.
  • Records Creation, Organization and Searching: how employees create, organize and search for records, including approaches and tools for collaboration.
  • Information Security and Privacy: methods used to protect the privacy of personally identifiable information.
  • Records Retention and Disposition: processes to ensure that records are kept a sufficient length of time to meet legal and regulatory obligations of the organization as well as ongoing business needs.
  • Records Quality and Trustworthiness: analysis of records quality and trustworthiness to ensure that records used to support business decisions and to defend the organization in a dispute are reliable and defensible.
  • System and Media Controls: controls for the capture, transmission, storage and display of records in an efficient and effective manner as well as media migration practices, backup / recovery practices and data archiving.
